Otawe started, like most good grill stories, with a loss: a full skewer of vegetables, assembled over twenty careful minutes, gone through the grate in four seconds. The tongs never stood a chance.

We went looking for a grill basket that felt like a real tool — not a promotional gadget — and couldn’t find one. So we built it: a hexagon of fine 304 stainless mesh that tumbles food for even char, parks flat when you need it still, and hands you a cool beech handle instead of a hot wire one. It launched in 2025, found its people on Amazon in the U.S. and Canada, and became the reason Otawe exists.

Then the kitchen half of the family spoke up. The same standard — steel that works, wood that feels good, everything dishwasher-safe — went into a lattice pastry cutter that makes bakery pie tops in one pass, and now a pair of stand-mixer accessories that end the flour cloud forever.
